From sketch to finished page

The original idea was to do a comic book page in a realistic drawing style.
I started to like the rough sketch, so I decided to go for a more expressive and experimental style.
Inspired by Skyrim.

Studies

A study based on a Da Vinci painting.
Not completely accurate at this stage, but the exercise has served its purpose.

Level Up!

Another new year coming, so I just wanted to give my best wishes to everyone involved in New Concept Comics and to all the visitors worldwide!
Let's finish this 2011 with a little overview of the things done since my last post, including: storyboards, test pages, color tests, and a large etc, for screen writers and comic book writers.
This also includes a new project I'm working on, I won't say anything about it yet, but it has to do with my previous post.

First sketches for "Jed Jr."

These are the basic thumbnails for the first 15 pages of the new Tiny Life's book, called "Jed Jr.". Some of them need more work, others are ready to be drawn at the standard size.











And these are some of the first character sketches, mostly a study of their faces' proportions.

Tests

This is some of the latest stuff I've been working on: several tests for different projects doing pencils, inks and colors. Everything it's drawn by me except the toon style, which I only colored.

Oh la lá!

These sketches correspond to a new project I'm working on. The specific buildings are copied of pictures. The others are concepts based on a bunch of pictures.
Both drawings and colors are unfinished but they helped the writer to guide me on some aspects of the story.
The plot develops in Europe and it's my first comic book in european format, aimed for an european publisher. Nice!

A work in progress

I started this illustration today. It was just a woman's face and then I started to add things (this is an extract).
I'll see how it goes. I'll be starting another project soon and hopefully I'll be sharing some pictures.

I've been working on a few sketches, testing some styles and stuff. Classic B&W style and modern, animated style.

Hi there. This is just a superhero sketch I did for fun some days ago. Has been a while since I draw something in this style (for a work), so I want to keep exercising it.
Ok then, I'll get back to the drawing board!

New projects

Hi there, I've been pretty busy these last days. I'm right now working on 2 projects besides Tiny Life, so here I'm showing a picture of one of them.

I can't talk a lot about them, so barely speaking, the color page it's for a project where different scenes from movies are taken and crazy twists are given, plus original scripts of the creators.

About the other project, the story consists of a group of women who foment a rebellion.

By the way, another year is about to pass. I'd like to send my best wishes for the next year for everyone out there reading this. Thanks for your visit.

New sketches for Tiny Life

These are the new versions of the characters for the next book of Tiny Life. They're younger, and a bit more realistic in some aspects.

The full body views were the firsts attempts, then the faces are the more defined versions.

I've been dividing the new script in pages lately and I think I'll be starting with story boards for the pages pretty soon.

Latest sketches

Hello there, these are some of the latest drawings that I've been doing. I can't tell anything about the project or the creator, but I wanted to show a bit of the new style I'm developing for my work in comics.

Anime/Manga style

I've been working in a few sketches for a new project in Anime/Manga style. The characters and the story are from Kris Gardner.
Hopefully I'll have more stuff related to upload soon.

6-pages short story

I've been also writing a short story just for fun, and it's also useful to extend my gallery with new material. I'll try to work these pages with a new style, we'll see what happens.

It's possible that I'll try to get it published later, maybe at some anthology.

These are the little storyboards that I make once I have the script done. Their only purpose is to serve as a reference for the main sketches in the final page.

I'll try to upload here every finished page as soon as I have them ready.

What I've been doing these days

I've been working recently in the last pencilled pages of Tiny Life's issue 5. Once the first five issues are completely inked, toned and lettered by the creator of the series and president of Sliver ltd. Nick Jones, to final product will be submitted to a publisher.

New project: Characters

I'm working right now in a new short 8-pages story written by Travis Gibb. These are his characters.
In this process of remaking the characters in my style (they were drawn by another artist before) I take the chance to test what style works better for the characters and the story. I think I'll be using both styles (shaded and lineal) for two different stories that are narrated in the same 8 pages.
The story is part of an anthology called 'Forbidden Paradise'.

Comic book: Angels & Demons

Here's an image from one of the characters in my story "Angels & Demons". I got this project aside at the moment, but as soon as can I'll be sketching all the pages and re-writing the script.

The story is about the internal struggle of a man in his way towards knowing himself, and in the search of his truth.
